The Effects of AI
Palms Middle School
A campaign targeted at getting the school administration to stop using generative AI, addressing its negative effects towards the planet and students’ critical thinking skills.
The Effects of AI is a deep dive into the more negative aspects of the technology, both for the environment and individuals. The team explores the exact cost of this technology and questions whether or not this is something that schools should be implementing without giving it much more thought. The project includes a series of interviews to collect information on, and question assumptions, about this new technology and its role in the classroom and the world at large. The student team aims to use their project to start a campaign to get their school to limit or eliminate AI usage in order help the environment and student educational development.
